The Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering deals with knowledge-based scaling of bioprocesses and multi-scale bioprocess characterization as well as the development of robust bioprocesses with microorganisms and in cell culture applications. Another focus is the investigation of single cell physiology and population heterogeneities in bioprocesses using multiple reporter strains. In the course of the advertised Ph.D. position, productive biofilm formation of different Streptomyces strains will be systematically investigated in milliliter-scale bioreactors.

YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject*s Biotechnology or Bioprocess Engineering
Required Knowledge And Personal Skills
- Advanced experience in microbial cultivation in bioreactors at laboratory scale
- Practical knowledge in analysis of bioprocess samples and in the best case knowledge in statistical data analysis
- Experience in bioreactor automation and bioprocess design
- Friendly, open-minded personality and great team player
- Willingness to participate in supervision of lab courses
