Maintenance Worker

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general maintenance and repair duties, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and carpentry work. They ensure the facilities and equipment are functional, safe, and in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance: Inspect and perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, machinery, and equipment.
• Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair issues in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems.
• Cleaning: Ensure proper cleanliness and safety of maintenance equipment and areas.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance tasks performed, including repairs and inspections.
• Tool Management: Operate and maintain tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Collaboration: Work with other departments to address facility issues or to assist in specific projects.
• Emergency Response: Address emergency maintenance issues promptly to minimize disruptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in any specialized trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
• Previous experience in facility maintenance in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the job requirements.
• May involve lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging conditions.
• Availability for on-call shifts for emergency maintenance tasks.
