Security Guard and Porter

Security Guard and porter for accommodation housing migrants. This role is based near Carlow Town, Carlow . The successful candidate will be approachable, courteous and respectful of our residents as well as professional.

Overview:

• Starting at €14.00 per hour but negotiable dependent on experience
• Part-time hours are 39-50 hours per week with infrequent extra hours needed for holiday cover with notice in advance
• Full time hours 40-50 hours per week
• PSA licence required but full training will be provided on site
• Must have a high level of English.
• Hours overnight 7 days a week, flexibility required. Mostly nights and some day cover required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform hourly walks around the inside and outside of the property, hitting guarding contact points. Report or take appropriate action on any breaches of security.
• Accurately record information on checklists and record any incidents to discuss with management
• Operate cameras and be aware of activity on site in all areas
• Allow access to visitors and complete sign in sheets accurately
• Keep public areas clean and tidy, changing bins, and other domestic tasks as needed. Storage of bulky items and some basic maintenance tasks may be required
• To be a responsible person on site in the event of an emergency

Skills and Qualifications:

• Up to date PSA licence required
• Knowledge of standard security and safety protocols
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Good physical fitness and strength
• Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments
• Working knowledge of relevant computer applications
