We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join a leading supplier to the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Manager will oversee all production activities to ensure on-time delivery, high quality, and continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiency. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of driving lean manufacturing initiatives, managing resources effectively, and maintaining a culture of safety and team collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Supervise the full production line flow, adjusting staffing, equipment, and schedules to ensure production stays on track and meets deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of manufacturing personnel, ensuring high visibility and open communication throughout shifts to foster a collaborative, productive environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate manufacturing operations regularly and implement improvements based on performance metrics, capital requirements, and operational standards. Drive the team to embrace continuous improvement (CI) practices.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate closely with the Quality Control team to ensure adherence to quality standards. Take corrective actions when necessary to resolve deficiencies and maintain product quality.
  • Staffing & Resource Planning: Work with the production scheduler to align staffing levels with business needs and production requirements. Manage capacity planning, ensuring that both personnel and equipment are properly aligned to meet production goals.
  • Training & Development: Train, coach, motivate, and mentor team members to enhance their skills, increase KPIs, and improve plant profitability. Manage performance, reward achievements, and address issues when necessary.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies and ensure all manufacturing staff undergo required safety training. Investigate and report on accidents in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Resolve production-related issues by working closely with other departments across the organization.
  • Operational Planning: Establish departmental goals and objectives through strategic planning, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Leadership & Employee Management: Handle all aspects of team management, including recruitment, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and staff discipline.
  • Barrier Removal: Proactively identify potential production barriers and develop solutions to prevent production delays or inefficiencies.
  • Change Management: Take an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. Support and encourage team participation in CI projects to enhance plant performance and profitability.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.


About You:

We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Manufacturing Manager with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership. You should have a solid background in manufacturing, with a track record of managing production teams and driving improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) is preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on production management.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Capacity Planning: Experience in capacity planning, including managing both people and equipment to meet production demands.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing them in a production environment.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to train, motivate, and lead teams to achieve production goals, improve KPIs, and increase profitability.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a polished professional presentation and strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Flexibility: Must be adaptable, innovative, and comfortable prioritizing tasks independently.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong planning and organizational skills to manage production schedules, resources, and team performance.
  • Languages: Fluent in both written and spoken English
