Key Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading process validation efforts with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll be at the forefront of new product introductions (NPI), lean manufacturing initiatives, and process automation, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working as part of an ever-growing engineering team, this is an exciting opportunity to drive process excellence and automation in precision manufacturing to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Manufacturing & Process Optimization
· Lead the development, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
· Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure seamless product transfers into production.
· Implement process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and customer requirements.
· Work closely with CNC applications engineers, tooling specialists, and inspection teams to refine machining processes, utilizing innovative solutions and improve results.
· Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools such as Minitab for process monitoring and improvement.
· Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles to optimize manufacturing and reduce costs.
Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
· Lead process improvements, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in a high-regulation environment.
· Utilize root cause analysis (8D, DMAIC, FMEA) to address process inefficiencies and quality issues.
· Identify, analyse and implement process improvements using multiple sources and methodologies e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data.
Leadership, Mentoring & Collaboration
· Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers.
· Track record in fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, problem-solving, and quality of work.
· Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
· Participate in, and influence product development discussions.
· Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Compliance
· Demonstrate adherence to compliance and customer requirements ensuring audit readiness at all times.
Strategic Development
Contribute to strategic planning and capital investment projects for manufacturing improvements, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term goals.
