Social Care Manager

We are seeking a Social Care Manager for our centre in Monksland, Co. Westmeath.

As a Social Care Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the residential centre and for leading a team of Social Care Workers and Social Care Leaders and Deputy Manager. Working closely with the Director of Services you will also be responsible for the modelling, leading, development and promotion of professional social care that delivers positive outcomes for young people and their families.

The centre manager will be responsible for,

• Young people in placement,
• Daily management of the centre and staff team,
• Financial management,
• Health & Safety & Fire Safety,
• Administration & Accountability.

Qualifications:

1. The centre manager must have minimum QQI level 7 qualification in social care and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health

OR

2. social care setting and 4 years’ full time work experience in a children’s residential care setting post qualification.

OR

3. Alternatively, the manager may hold a QQI level 8 qualification in social care with 3 years’ post qualification work experience in a children’s residential care setting.

OR

4. Alternatively hold a relevant qualification with 4 years’ full time work experience in a children’s residential care setting post qualification.

OR

5. A professional qualification in Social Work is also considered as suitable, for a centre manager with the requisite 4 years post qualification practice experience and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting.

Essential Experience:

Minimum 4 years’ experience of working at social care grade with young people/children in residential settings.

Requirements:

• A full clean drivers licence, valid in Ireland
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of the National Standards in Children's Residential Centres, Children's First and relevant legislation.
• Ability to support and guide a staff team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €55,000.00-€58,000.00 per year
