Robot Welding Operator with qualified welding experience:

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operation of Robot Welding Machines, maintain Quality, Safety & Environmental standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and consumables in a busy manufacturing environment. Duties will include the following

  • Ability to manually weld and inspect weld quality
  • Programming machinery and production set up
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Operate welding robots in accordance with company safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to 6S principles
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration on welding equipment and robots
  • Perform regular inspections and monitor work to meet process requirements..
  • Load and unload parts onto welding fixtures, ensuring proper part orientation
  • Monitor robotic welding process and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality welds are produced
  • Inspect completed welds for defects and perform rework as necessary
  • Record data from each welding cycle in the appropriate logbook
  • Communicate with other members of the team to coordinate workflow and avoid potential hazards
  • Assist in training new team members on proper welding techniques and robot operation
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap
  • Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve welding issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Adhering to all relevant Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures
  • Programming and operating robotic welding machines to weld various parts
  • Inspecting welds to ensure proper weld quality, especially with regard to alignment, penetration, and fusion
  • Performing standard welding tasks
  • Operating machines such as grinders etc as required
  • Making adjustments to equipment based on knowledge of welding processes and techniques
  • Preparing work surfaces by cleaning, removing residue, and cutting materials to specified sizes or shapes
  • Installing or removing parts on equipment, such forklifts
  • Repairing or replacing malfunctioning equipment parts such as motors or sensors
  • Maintain continuity by communicating actions to supervisor

Interested applicants should have:

· Minimum 3 years MIG welding experience essential. Valid weld certification preferable

· Experience on operating robots or CNC machines that would show an aptitude towards robot welding.

· Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques & principles and 5S standards an advantage.

· Familiar with ISO Quality, Safety & Environmental standards.

· You must have strong attention to detail and be reliable.

· A good understanding of spoken and written English.

· The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, welding drawings, operating instructions and procedures

· Adhere to the required company and customer weld standards

· Inspection of welds to determine compliance with standards.

· Have good attention to detail taking pride in their work

· Maintain relevant plant and equipment to the highest standard

· Be punctual with an excellent attendance record

· Plan and organise their work in order to meet daily schedules and output targets

· Ability to work well in a team and on their own initiative.

· Reporting defects immediately so problems are quickly addressed.

· Complete all work in a safe and efficient manner.
