Job Details

Is sinne na daoine atá taobh thiar d’eangach leictreachais na hÉireann. Tá leibhéal athraithe agus deiseanna ann nach bhfacthas a leithéid riamh roimhe seo i dtionscal an fhuinnimh. Is é an cuspóir atá againn an Córas Cumhachta a Chlaochlú le haghaidh na nGlún atá le teacht agus is é an phríomhsprioc atá againn Earnáil Leictreachais an Oileáin a Threorú maidir le hInbhuanaitheacht agus Dícharbónú. Táimid ag céim shuntasach i gclaochlú ár gcórais chumhachta agus ní raibh ár dtodhchaí chomh spreagúil amach romhainn. Is deis iontach é seo chun páirt a ghlacadh ann.

An Fhoireann

Is laistigh den Phríomh-Oifig um Chlaochlú agus Teicneolaíocht (CTTO) atá an deis seo. Is é ról na stiúrthóireachta seo ár gclár claochlaithe, a stiúradh, a chlaochlú, a dhigitiú, a sheachadadh, fís a leagan amach dó agus tacú leis. I ndeireadh na dála, oibrímid chun an córas cumhachta agus an margadh a sheachadadh go dtí 2030 agus ina dhiaidh sin, agus comhtháthú foinsí in-athnuaite fuinnimh á uasmhéadú ar bhealach inbhuanaithe.

Ní mór dúinn an claochlú sin a chur i gcrích ar chostas inacmhainne, agus guthanna gach gné dár sochaí á gcur san áireamh. Oibríonn CTTO ar fud na nuálaíochta agus na Pleanála, Seirbhísí Teicneolaíochta agus Seachadadh Cláir Straitéisigh chun athrú a chur ar bun, a dhearadh agus a sholáthar, agus an teicneolaíocht ríthábhachtach lena gcumasaítear é sin ar fad a chothabháil agus a fheabhsú ag an am céanna.

An Deis Ghairme

Tá deis spreagúil againn anois Ceann Sinsearach an Athraithe páirt a ghlacadh inár bhfoireann atá ag dul i méid agus tacaíocht a thabhairt chun ár gcláir straitéiseacha a chur i gcrích. Ní mór don duine sin a bheith ina chumarsáidí den chéad scoth, le leibhéil arda tionscnaíochta, gairmiúlachta agus tiomantais chun tacú leis an obair a dhéanaimid i seachadadh straitéiseach na gclár, ag obair taobh le taobh lenár gcomhpháirtithe inmheánacha chun athrú a chumasú agus a spreagadh le príomhpháirtithe leasmhara seachtracha (go háirithe earnáil na tionsclaíochta).

Tá dúshláin agus dearcthaí iomadúla agus éagsúla ag ár bpáirtithe leasmhara inmheánacha agus seachtracha. Sa phost seo tá gá le nascleanúint chúramach ar riachtanais agus ar thuairimí na bpáirtithe leasmhara. Éilíonn sé solúbthacht maidir leis an gcaoi a dtéimid i ngleic le gach páirtí leasmhar chun comhpháirtíochtaí gairmiúla a chothú lena gcuirtear spriocanna EirGrid chun cinn agus lena dtugtar na príomhpháirtithe leasmhara ar aistear an athraithe ag an am céanna.

Tá ár bpáirtithe leasmhara seachtracha tábhachtach d’Éirinn ar go leor gnéithe, lena n-áirítear ár spriocanna in-athnuaite a bhaint amach, leanúint den fhás eacnamaíoch inbhuanaithe, tacú le slándáil an tsoláthair agus aistriú chóras cumhachta na hÉireann. Áirítear orthu sin ceannairí tionscail agus saineolaithe ábhair ó gach cearn den tionscal fuinnimh, lena n-áirítear gineadóirí, úsáideoirí móra fuinnimh, oibreoirí nua teicneolaíochta agus stórála agus go leor eile nach iad. Ar an taobh inmheánach, oibrímid le comhghleacaithe ó gach cearn den chuideachta ar fad a d’fhéadfadh tairbhe a bhaint as an obair a dhéanaimid, a bhféadfadh tionchar a bheith acu ar an obair a dhéanaimid nó a d’fhéadfadh a bheith ag brath ar an obair sin.

Tá roinnt príomhthionscadal ann faoi láthair a bheidh dírithe ar rannpháirtíocht, lena n-áirítear an méid seo a leanas, ach gan a bheith teoranta dóibh:
  • Socruithe Seirbhíse Córais a bheidh ann amach anseo: Tá socruithe nua á bhforbairt ag an tionscadal seo chun Seirbhísí Córais nuálacha a sholáthar, rud a bheidh ríthábhachtach chun athrú oibríochtúil a éascú, rud a fhágfaidh go mbeifear in ann an córas cumhachta a oibriú le leibhéil arda teicneolaíochtaí ísealcharbóin atá ag éirí níos airde agus chun ár spriocanna fuinnimh in-athnuaite do 2030 a bhaint amach.
  • Sceidealú agus Seachadadh: Tá athruithe deartha á bhforbairt ag an tionscadal seo ar ár gcroí-mhargadh agus ar ár gcroíchórais oibríochtúla chun athruithe a sheachadadh a bhaineann leis an gcaoi a gcaitear le foinsí in-athnuaite fuinnimh neamhthosaíochta a shainítear sa Phacáiste Fuinnimh Ghlain. Tá feabhsuithe á ndéanamh ar sheoladh gaoithe, agus nuashonruithe ar phróiseas sceidealaithe agus seachadta chun réitigh stórála fuinnimh nua agus foinsí táimhe ísealcharbóin a ionchorprú, agus soláthar cúltaiscí agus seirbhísí córas ó theicneolaíochtaí nua.
  • Lánpháirtiú na hEorpa: Ó tharla an Breatimeacht, níl an margadh leictreachais uile-oileáin comhtháite a thuilleadh leis an Aontas. A luaithe a bheidh an tIdirnascaire Ceilteach beo in 2026, déanfar sinn a chomhtháthú arís san Aontas, agus chuige sin beidh gá le hathruithe suntasacha ar an margadh agus le rannpháirtíocht na bpáirtithe leasmhara.
  • Fuinneamhstóráil Fhadtréimhseach: Imscrúdú a dhéanamh ar na roghanna agus iad a chumasú chun stóráil fhadtréimhseach fuinnimh a dhreasú.

Mar gheall ar nádúr uathúil an mhargaidh leictreachais uile-oileáin, tá ár bhfoireann ag réiteach na ndúshlán sula mbíonn orthu aghaidh a thabhairt orthu in áiteanna eile ar domhan. Dá bhrí sin, is deis uathúil é sin chun oibriú i gcomhar le saineolaithe atá ar thús cadhnaíochta ar fud an domhain agus ról lárnach a imirt inár n-aistriú chuig todhchaí fuinnimh slán agus ar ísealcharbóin.

Maidir leatsa
  • Cáilíocht aitheanta i ndisciplín ábhartha agus taithí 6 bliana ar rannpháirtíocht agus bainistíocht éifeachtach páirtithe leasmhara seachtracha i dtimpeallacht chasta agus an cumas torthaí rathúla a spreagadh.
  • Scileanna idirphearsanta agus cumas oibriú mar chuid d’fhoireann agus as a stuaim féin
  • Meon straitéiseach lenar féidir tosaíochtaí iomadúla a chur san áireamh agus riachtanais éagsúla na bpáirtithe leasmhara a chothromú agus príomhchuspóirí EirGrid á mbaint amach ag an am céanna.
  • Taithí ar ábhar teicniúil a chur in iúl do lucht féachana neamhtheicniúil.
  • Iompraíochtaí agus gníomhaíochtaí léirithe a thacóidh go réamhghníomhach agus go dearfach le cultúr na nuálaíochta agus na gairmiúlachta uaillmhianaí atá á dtógáil againn.
  • Inniúlacht iomlán in uirlisí MS365 lena n-áirítear PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Excel, Co-Pilot, Outlook agus Teams
  • Cumarsáid léirithe agus scileanna maidir le tionchar a imirt ar pháirtithe leasmhara inmheánacha agus seachtracha.
  • Solúbthacht chun oiriúnú do chur i bhfeidhm dinimiciúil tionscadal claochlaithe agus solúbthacht chun raon leathan saincheisteanna a bhainistiú ag an am céanna.

We are the people behind Ireland’s electricity grid. There is an unprecedented level of change and opportunity in the energy industry. Our Purpose is to Transform the Power System for Future Generations and our primary goal is to Lead the Island’s Electricity Sector on Sustainability and Decarbonisation. We are at a significant stage in our power system transformation and our future has never looked more exciting. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of it.

The Team

This opportunity sits within the Chief Transformation and Technology Office (CTTO). The role of this directorate is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, deliver and support our transformation programme. Ultimately, we work to deliver the power system and market to 2030 and beyond, maximising the integration of renewables in a sustainable way.

We must deliver this transformation at an affordable cost, taking on board the voices of all aspects of our society. CTTO works across innovation & Planning, Technology Services and Strategic Programme Delivery to ideate, design and deliver change, while maintaining and improving the crucial technology that enables it all.

The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Change Lead to join our growing team and support with the delivery of our strategic programmes. This person must be a first-class communicator, with high levels of initiative, professionalism and drive to support the work we do in strategic programme delivery, working side-by-side with our internal partners to enable and drive change with key external stakeholders.

Our internal and external stakeholders present numerous and diverse challenges and perspectives. This job requires careful navigation of stakeholder needs and views. It demands flexibility in how we approach each stakeholder situation in order to cultivate professional partnerships which advance EirGrid’s goals while bringing key stakeholders on the journey of change.

Our external stakeholders are important to Ireland from many aspects including the achievement of our renewable targets, the continuation of sustainable economic growth, supporting security of supply and the transition of the Irish power system. These include industry leaders and subject matter experts from across the energy industry, including generators, large energy users, new technology and storage operators and many more besides. On the internal side, we work with colleagues from across the whole company who may benefit from, be impacted by or are dependent on the work we do.

There are currently several key projects which will be the focus of engagement including but not limited to:
  • Future System Service Arrangements: This project is developing new arrangements for the procurement of innovative System Services which will be vital in facilitating operational change which will allow the power system to be operated with increasingly high levels of low carbon technologies and in achieving our 2030 renewables targets.
  • Scheduling and Dispatch: This project is developing design changes to our core market and operational systems to deliver on changes associated with the treatment of non-priority dispatch renewables defined in the Clean Energy Package, making improvements on wind dispatch, and updates to scheduling and dispatch process to incorporate new energy storage solutions, low carbon sources of inertia, and the provision of reserves and systems services from new technologies.
  • European Integration: Since Brexit the all-island electricity market is no longer integrated with the EU. Once the Celtic Interconnector goes live in 2026, we will be integrated once again to the EU, and this will require significant market changes and stakeholder engagement.
  • Long Duration Energy Storage: Investigating and enabling the options to incentivise long duration energy storage.

Due to the unique nature of the all-island electricity market our team are solving challenges before they are experienced elsewhere in the world. This is therefore a unique opportunity to work alongside world leading experts and play a key role in our transition to a secure and low carbon energy future.

About You
  • A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline supported by 6 years of experience of effective external stakeholder engagement and management in a complex environment and with an ability to drive successful outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strategic mindset that can consider multiple priorities and balance multiple stakeholders needs while delivering on EirGrid’s key objectives.
  • Experienced in communicating technical subject matter to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated behaviours and actions that will proactively and positively support the culture of ambitious innovation and professionalism that we are building.
  • Full proficiency in MS365 tools including PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Excel, Co-Pilot, Outlook and Teams
  • Demonstrated communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic rollout of transformation projects and agility to manage a wide range of issues at the same time.
