QAQC Lead - Data Centre Construction

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced QAQC Lead – Electrical to oversee and execute all quality assurance and quality control activities related to electrical systems on a high-tech data center construction project in the EU. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical installations meet the design, technical specifications, industry regulations, and client quality standards throughout the construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all QAQC activities related to electrical systems across the site.
• Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality checklists aligned with project specifications.
• Ensure electrical installations are executed in compliance with EU codes, IEC standards, and local authority requirements.
• Review and verify construction drawings, redlines, as-builts, and material submittals for accuracy and conformity.
• Oversee and coordinate electrical inspections, testing, FATs, and SATs in collaboration with subcontractors and the client.
• Manage and track snag/punch lists, ensuring timely resolution and system readiness for walkdowns and handovers.
• Ensure Turnover Documentation Packs (TOPs) for electrical systems are built, verified, and submitted on schedule.
• Participate in system walkdowns with the client and commissioning teams, driving issue closure and QA readiness.
• Liaise daily with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure quality alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits from the client or regulatory bodies.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement within the electrical construction team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Electrical QAQC roles, ideally within data center, pharmaceutical, or industrial construction.
• Demonstrated experience in leading QAQC activities on large-scale MEP projects.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems (MV/LV, UPS, generators, BMS, lighting, earthing, etc.).
• Strong understanding of EU electrical regulations, IEC/ISO standards, GEP and data center commissioning protocols.
• Proven experience in system turnover and documentation control.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially in multi-contractor environments.
• Relevant engineering or technical qualification (Electrical, E&I, or similar).
• Valid EU work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in QA (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQE).
• Experience using digital QAQC platforms and tools (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, Aconex).
• Familiarity with hyperscale data center project environments and client expectations.
