About Us:

Hire Station is a family-run plant and tool hire business based in Edenderry, serving customers across the Midlands, Leinster, and beyond. We specialise in powered access solutions, gardening equipment, and plant and tool hire and sales. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a fully qualified Mechanic/Fitter to join our team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic/Fitter to work on a range of heavy machinery, plant equipment, and garden tools. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, the ability to work independently and within a small team, and the initiative to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy machinery and plant equipment.
• Service and repair garden machinery, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, strimmers, and other small engine equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure all equipment is in top working condition.
• Work independently to manage workloads and prioritise repairs effectively.
• Assist with general duties, including power washing, van driving, and machine maintenance, as required by management.
• Maintain a safe and organized workshop.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified Mechanic/Fitter with relevant experience.
• Strong background in working with heavy machinery and plant equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing garden equipment (lawnmowers, chainsaws, strimmers, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated.
• Full clean driver’s license is an advantage.
