Optimize are working with a market leader in its field of Transport and Logistics, based in the South- East. They pride themselves on excellent customer service and are now seeking an Accounts Payable assistant to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Financial Controller and will play a key role in supporting the finance team by managing the Accounts Payable function.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement once training is complete and will report directly into the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare and process payment runs, including electronic and manual payments.
• Monitor aged payables and address overdue balances with suppliers.
• Ensure all accounts payable documentation is maintained and updated in a timely manner.
• Any ad-hoc finance duties required by the department

Candidate Requirements:

• 2 years experience in a similar accounts position
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong excel & analysis skills desirable
• Self-motivated and deadline driven with strong attention to detail
