Atlantic Technological University (ATU) was established on 1 April 2022 following the merger of Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Sligo, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology. In November 2023, St Angela’s College Sligo also became part of ATU. ATU has approximately 27,000 students and 2,500 staff across its nine campuses in the West and North West region of Ireland, making it one of the largest multi-campus universities on the island. The University serves a diverse group of learners, staff, communities and organisations, playing a major role in supporting development in the region and further afield.
During this time of development and growth, ATU now seeks to appoint a Dean of the Faculty of Business. Reporting to the President, the Dean of the Faculty of Business will be a key member of the University Senior Leadership Team and will have overall responsibility for the Faculty’s full range of activities, including programme development, excellence in teaching and learning, research & innovation, engagement with enterprise, planning, budgeting, resource allocation and knowledge exchange. The role will be pivotal in the development of the academic and research reputation of the Faculty, providing an outstanding experience for both staff and students, and also in deepening external Faculty relationships and increasing its contribution to the delivery of ATU's Strategic aims.
The successful candidate will be an experienced senior academic leader with a track record of developing academic and research excellence. They will have proven experience of managing financial and physical resources as well as demonstrable line management experience in a large and complex environment. This individual will have vision, energy and collegiality and have managed or contributed to change processes, while also creating equitable and inclusive cultures. The ideal candidate will also have a proven track record of delivering growth and developing capability and capacity in research, innovation and engagement.
