Protex AI is a VC-backed technology company building a privacy-preserving computer vision platform to enable proactive Health and Safety (EHS) workflows. We leverage the domain knowledge of EHS teams to help our computer vision system understand the concept of danger, preventing accidents before they occur. About The Team

As a remote first team that operates across 5 continents, the User Applications Team at ProtexAI is all about building end-to-end solutions with complete ownership—from deployment and scaling to continuous optimisation. You’ll design high-performance, fault-tolerant systems that power global safety operations, ensuring our solutions stay reliable and efficient at scale.

As an engineer here, you’ll have full autonomy over architecture and product evolution, allowing you to shape the future of workplace safety technology. We emphasise rapid iteration through CI/CD, automated testing, and performance tuning, so you can focus on solving complex problems while maintaining system integrity.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

• Has expertise in cloud technologies like, serverless, microservices architecture, PostgreSQL, database management, and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes or equivalent.
• Has hands-on experience with AWS services or equivalent, including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and API Gateway, as well as building and managing telemetry systems for monitoring and observability (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
• Has strong experience with JavaScript backend frameworks like Node.js, Express, NestJS, or similar, and understands best practices for building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Isn’t afraid to dive into different technologies, get hands-on with the code to move things forward, or take on out-of-domain work—whether it's generative AI, Frontend Infrastructure, improving system performance and tuning, or stepping into new areas to drive solutions across teams.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or similar certifications.
• Acts as a versatile generalist who can tackle day-to-day challenges, including managing stakeholders, driving cross-team collaboration (especially with Computer Vision teams), and troubleshooting across the entire stack when needed.
• Proven track record in designing scalable, high-performance systems, with a deep understanding of distributed systems, service orchestration, and fault tolerance.
• We’re seeking someone with 5 years of experience.
