Receptionist/Administrator duties include:

  • Welcoming and assisting patients and visitors to the practice in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Providing a high level of professional customer service in person and over the telephone.
  • Answering the multi-line telephone, handling patient enquiries, scheduling appointments for patients, screening calls, appropriate transfer of calls, recording and conveying accurate messages electronically and verbally.
  • Performing general tasks and office administrative duties as requested by the practice manager and doctors.
  • Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality and privacy of personal information.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Hold a relevant secretarial/business qualification or computer skills course and have achieved an excellent level of proficiency in same
  • Have a proven track record in providing excellent customer service and the ability to handle any complaints
  • Have exceptional communication skills with our patients and visitors to the practice
  • Enjoy working in a busy environment
  • Have exceptional organisational skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to multitask
  • Have the ability to use own initiative and work as part of a friendly team
  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Have strong computer skills including typing skills i.e. qualification/course completed in typing skills
  • Experience of working in a GP surgery would be a distinct advantage
