Taconic operates in various locations across Europe, and we’re currently seeking applications from candidates for the position of Environmental Manager, to join our Team in Mullingar.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Director of Technology & Manufacturing, Europe, the Environmental Manager will focus on strengthening Taconic International’s environmental management program and implementing innovative environmental systems that support the company’s ISO14001 accreditation.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

Leading activities that achieve energy, carbon, water, and waste reduction targets through measurement, analysis and reporting.

Professionally managing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders on carbon, water, waste, REACH, and energy.

Sampling, monitoring, and reporting on effluent, energy and waste targets and compliance.

Keeping up to date with new and/or emerging legislation, (EU, Irish, International); advising on any changes that are required and leading the implementation of such changes.

Conducting regular in-house audits to ensure progress to targets set.

Communicating environmental plans, and targets to employees at all levels of the organisation.

We're seeking applications from candidates with:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (NFQ 8) or equivalent in Science, (e.g. Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology), or another related, relevant field.

A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in an environmental role.

Strong knowledge of Irish and European Environmental legislation.

Hands-on experience with field sampling and feasibility studies.

Proactive approach to problem identification and problem solving.

Excellent communication skills, and time management skills - with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
