Vhi Group Services DAC have a full time permanent role for the position of Senior Security Officer (shift work) based in our Head Office, Abbey St, Dublin 1. The successful candidate will be highly competent and capable to monitor the premises and protect our valued colleagues and visitors. They will have 4 – 5 direct reports and external contractor management
Role purpose:
Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control
Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately
Maintain the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance
Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage.Lead, develop and manage a team of 4-5 Security Officers and manage the relationship with our external contractor support providers.Lead, develop and manage our outsourced security partners with shift requirements, leave and general day to day duties.
Responsible for all relevant reporting on a weekly, monthly, annual basis, taking a risk-based approach
Weekly reporting to FM on events or issues.
Keep Facilities Manager updated on any immediate threats to buildings and colleagues.
Update and maintain Security Procedures and Service tickets for shared innovation spaces.
Manage and maintain the access control system and persons entering our buildings, including activation and deactivation of access cards in conjunction with People and Sustainability.
Set, respond to and maintain alarms, opening, checking, and locking up building, and safekeeping and control of keys.
Support with office equipment, furniture, materials and stationery and store when required.
Control building facilities ensuring our buildings are safe for colleagues and members, e.g. control heat, ventilation, lights and ensure that electrical equipment is switched on/off when necessary.
Manage fleet bookings and Vehicle Management System.
Key Criteria Education & Knowledge:
2 – 4 years lead experience in a similar role
Demonstrated knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Interpersonal:
Excellent people skills with a proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team or with external parties calmly and effectively.
Ability to demonstrate decisive decisionmaking skills in high-pressure situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Proven reliability and flexibility
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Excellent team player skills
Active listening skills with a strong demonstrated awareness of customers, colleagues and team member’s needs.
