General Operative for Metal Recycling company

Wilton Scrap Metals Ltd are currently looking for a general operative to join our metal team.

Main responsibilities:

· Assist in the offloading, sorting, and weighing of materials for further processing.

· Ensure efficient handling and storage of all materials in the yard.

· Always provide a high standard of customer service.

· Follow the instructions of the supervisor.

· Operate company equipment, plant, and machinery – including forklifts in a proper, safe, and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

· Follow all company and health & safety protocols and procedures.

· Undertake other ad hoc yard duties as required.

Requirements:

· Fluent written and spoken English.

· Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

· Ability to work as part of a team, assisting other departments when required.

· Manual Handling and Forklift ticket desirable.

· Must be reliable, enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and able to work under own initiative.

· Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude.
