1 Resource Group is seeking proficient Machine Grinders to join our team in the Conroe area for the 2nd shift.
Position Overview: The Machine Grinder is responsible for maximizing operational efficiency through the effective set-up and operation of one or more grinding machines. The individual will be tasked with grinding external or internal cylindrical or tapered surfaces of metal workpieces in accordance with precise blueprint specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently set up, operate, and maintain two or more grinding machines based on detailed blueprints, specifications, work orders, and directives to meet or exceed production schedules.
- Utilize measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts are machined to correct dimensions and inspect completed parts for compliance with specifications.
- Provide training to peers in grinding operations and techniques as needed.
- Identify and rectify improper machine functioning, executing necessary adjustments.
- Verify dimensions of ground workpieces against specifications to confirm conformance.
- Recognize, identify, and troubleshoot machine operations within the manufacturing process to enhance quality and tooling lifespan.
- Mount and dress grinding wheels and regulating wheels, making adjustments to maintain optimal specifications.
- Adjust grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing between wheel faces through operational controls.
- Exemplify technical proficiency in interpreting blueprints and utilizing shop measurement tools.
- Adhere to all company policies on health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Report any known or suspected non-conformance with company procedures promptly.
- Work effectively under limited supervision, demonstrating a high degree of creativity and autonomy.
Qualifications:
- Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in applying basic mathematical concepts and calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and standard units of measurements.
