What You Will Contribute:
Badger Meter is hiring a first shift (6:30am-3:00pm) Material Handler at our clean and air-conditioned Milwaukee facility.
In this role, your keen attention to detail will play a critical part in supporting departments across both plant and administrative functions. From double-checking order accuracy to meticulously updating inventory systems and adhering to strict quality standards, you'll help maintain seamless operations. With a focus on safe work practices and consistent quality inspections, you’ll ensure every task is completed to the highest standards. Major Job Duties/Accountability:
Fills customer parts orders and replenishes stock as per reports.
Processes inventory transactions and reviews/releases customer orders using inventory systems.
Prepares and packs customer orders for shipment, double-checking pick accuracy and following department standards.
Prepares shipments for other Badger Meter facilities, including documents and courier packages.
Packs various orders, maintains carton stock, and operates hot stamping/engraving machines for meter/part identification.
Moves materials using manual and powered equipment; issues materials to departments.
Receives, counts, tags, and stores production materials; updates inventory systems.
Performs cycle counts and quarterly audits; consolidates inventory to save storage space.
Loads/unloads items, prepares vendor documents, and fulfills pick lists and resupply orders.
Manages distribution tasks and moves products using power trucks.
Inspects and records incoming materials; delivers them to departments.
Prepares outgoing shipments and stages them as per customer requirements.
Processes shipments using software and handles loading/unloading trailers
Qualifications:
1 years of experience preferred
High School degree required
Basic computer skills
Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Maintains open communication and positive working relationships with staff
Basic math skills
Ability to read, write and speak English
Physical Requirements:
Depending on assigned department, must be able to meet one of the following physical requirements.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform a 20 pound lift test (Packer)
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform a 40 pound lift test (Stores Keeper)
Must demonstrate the ability to perform a 40 pound lift to waist, 50 pound lift to chest and 50 pound carry test (Shipping/Receiving)
