Education: Required - Master’s degree from an accredited university, in one of the following areas: psychology, social work, or counseling field.

Work Experience: Required - 2 years’ experience providing direct clinical services to at-risk youth or at least 1 year of experience providing direct services to clients and at least 1 year of experience in a clinical internship.

Licenses: LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, or LMSW.

LMSW clinicians must be actively pursuing LCSW licensure, receiving external supervision by a board approved supervisor.

Supervises:  Support with training and management to interns as assigned by Lead Clinician.

Summary: This position is responsible for using sound professional clinical judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in traumatic situations while maintaining compliance with established state, federal, and Texas Behavioral Health Executive Board standards.

Essential Functions
1.  Assesses mental health needs of clients; helps to meet those needs by providing counseling services and referrals to case management.  
2.  Able to establish rapport with youth and young adults ages 14-25, utilizing innovative therapeutic approaches.
3.  Performs Crisis intervention techniques to ensure that youth are safe.
4.  Implements Trauma Informed Care using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Single Session Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Art Therapy techniques to individual clients and group clients. 
5.  Develops Individual Treatment Plans for each client and regularly assesses progress, providing updates to the Treatment Plan as goals change.  Treatment plans will be updated every 90 days as per policy.
6.  Timely and accurate file documentation and data entry into Salesforce within 72 hours of individual session or group session.  
7.  Manages assigned projects and interns as assigned.
8.  Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Program Director and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
9.  Meet all deadlines required by Program Director, Lead Clinician and state/federal partners. 
10.  Maintains own schedule for office visits and events.
11.  Identifies and maintains professional relationships with clients and community partners.
12.  Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service trainings and case consultations.
13.  Prepares presentations, training and facilitates groups that address topics related to mental health awareness for community partners, sister programs, school, parents and youth. The purpose of these presentations is to educate individuals in the community on increasing intervention skills, what are victimization issues and the availability of victim resources and services.
14.  Assists Lead Clinician in compiling information and analyzing statistics for grant quarterly 
15.  Participates in RTH events, resource fairs and activities in the community as assigned.
16.  Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with youth and other staff in case of an emergency.
17.  Maintains confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
18.  Maintains BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code at all times.  
19.  Demonstrate the ability to: 
a.  Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
b.  Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c.  Work in a fast paced environment.
d.  Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e.  Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
 

Measurable Deliverables:
1.    Meets all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2.    Meets all service goals for year:  provide 750 counseling hours, facilitate 50 support groups, provide clinical services to 150 clients.  All service goals can be supplemented with intern assistance.  
3.    Completes the following items in Salesforce at Intake:  Client contact, CSD intake assessment; RTH contract intake, Interpretive summary, assesses to determine client needs and develop a Treatment Plan goals and objectives.
4.    Enters required Salesforce data for all clients within 2 business days of client contact and submit monthly reports as specified by Lead Clinician.
5.    Obtains assessments of client’s mental health needs and progression in the Individual Treatment Plan every 90 days.
6.    Ensures that all program documentation required on clinical tab, including information that is required for quarterly and monthly outcome measures reports, is accurate and ready for reports to be run by the 3rd working day of each month.
7.    Complete all file audit follow up with 10 days of audit completion.
8.    Compiles, prepares, submits and maintains accurate records, files, forms and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
9.    Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position by attending field related trainings earning 30 continuing education units every two years including a training on Human Trafficking.

Requirements:
1.    Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens
2.    Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
3.    Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
4.    Maintain bi-annually CPR/AED/First Aid certification
