We are currently hiring for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our staff for one of our school sites in Everett, MA for 2024-25 school year. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Assess, observe, and develop programs and treatment goals for eligible school-age children
- Provide information and recommendations to families and school staff
- Provide appropriate services to promote access to and benefit from students' educational program
- Recommend strategies and modifications when appropriate, to improve educational performance
- Provide collaborative consultation and training to school teams and families
- Attend in-service training and other appropriate meetings and conferences
- Prepare and submit documentation of services provided
- Maintain service-related records, forms and documents
- Perform other related duties as required
- Have successfully completed and graduated from an accredited occupational therapy professional program recognized by NBCOT and have completed all fieldwork requirements
- Current Occupational Therapy license issued by the {name of the state} State Board of Examiners, or current Occupational Therapy license issued by another state with ability to obtain the {name of the state} license within 30 days of hire ({name of the state} license must be maintained throughout employment)
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
- A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
- Two years of experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in school system or other pediatric practice setting
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws governing occupational therapists
- Discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive, personal and medical information, with ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, co-workers and their family members
- Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills, including the ability to accurately compile and maintain therapeutic records and related documentation
