Position Overview: We are seeking highly motivated Dispatchers who will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our night and weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for answering driver and client inquiries, researching and resolving customer issues, and effectively communicating with a wide audience. You will work closely with fellow team members and interface directly with customers and drivers to ensure timely delivery according to contract requirements.

Schedule:(in office/onsite) 4 days working, 3 days off.

• Nights: Thursday - Sunday | 4:00 p.m. - 3:30 a.m. (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily on-time coordination, assignment, and performance of pick-up and delivery of loads.
• Provide satisfactory service to our primary customer, the United States Postal Service.
• Engage in effective communication with terminal/region drivers and USPS Officials.
• Manage computer dispatch systems and maintain customer relationships in dispatch.
• Ensure driver compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
• Complete daily reporting and recordkeeping of dispatch activities.
• Facilitate all over-the-road breakdowns, accidents, weather delays, and route exceptions.
• Review and follow driver managers' notes and directions for after-hours planning.
• Ensure on-time pick-ups are met and drivers are tracked.
• Update customers on pick-up/delivery delays of any sort.
• Answer a high volume of phone calls and emails.
• With driver managers' direction, work on load recovery plans.
• Handle accidents, call-offs, breakdowns, etc., with assistance from the appropriate team members.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of transportation or dispatching experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience within the transportation industry (minimum of 6 months preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to document processes, research, and resolve issues.
• Proven skills in verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Balance between verbal and analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to conceptualize big picture ideas, attention to detail, and skill in multitasking.
• Analytical thinking with a good sense of urgency.
• Effective communication with company employees, customers, and vendors.
