Job Summary:
Horizon BCBS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Office of Information Governance and Privacy. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of data privacy, information governance, including AI governance, and compliance while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
- Support privacy threshold analysis and impact assessments.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of privacy and information governance policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Help track regulatory developments related to privacy and information governance laws (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA, NJDPA and emerging AI laws) and assess their impact on the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with information governance and privacy policies.
- Support the management of privacy-related inquiries, complaints and investigations.
- Conduct research and prepare reports on best practices in privacy and information governance
Requirements:
- Requires High School Diploma
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Information Technology, Law, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Interest in privacy, compliance, and information governance topics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in teams
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Interest in diversity & inclusion, litigation and/or labor and employment law
- Superior interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills as well as excellent relationship building skills
- Ability to multi-task and to navigate relationships and time constrains effectively.
- Strong orientation to technology and excellent PC skills.(MS Office)
- Self-directed and motivated

Location: 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ – Hybrid Work Schedule
Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)
Duration: 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025)
