Meaningful Work From Day OneJoin the Brown-Forman Distillery Operations Bottling Team as a Quality Control Specialist, you'll be responsible for performing the qualitative analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and product samples collected throughout the production process. You'll operate and maintain precision lab equipment on your shift, ensuring our malt beverages, bourbon, spirits, and liqueurs meet the highest quality standards. Your expertise will drive process adjustments, packaging assessments, and collaboration with internal teams to support HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and Food Safety initiatives.
What You Can Expect
Food Safety Support: Support HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and Food Safety initiatives for bottling and processing operations.
Quality Monitoring: Ensure the quality of malt beverages, bourbon, spirits, and liqueurs by monitoring production and processing.
Quality Audits: Perform internal audits including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Brown-Forman Quality Systems Program inspections.
Analytical Testing: Conduct chemical, qualitative, and organoleptic analyses on samples and raw materials to maintain high standards.
Process Adjustments: Recommend process adjustments to ensure products meet quality specifications.
Micro Analysis: Perform micro analysis and oversee packaging appearance on bottling lines, taking corrective actions as needed.
Pre-Delivery Testing: Conduct pre-delivery tests for flavors and packaging, manage paperwork, and liaise with vendors on quality issues.
Packaging Assessment: Assess packaging materials against specifications and report discrepancies to vendors.
Team Communication: Communicate effectively with Quality Control and bottling teams, updating training documents as necessary.
Collaboration: Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Research & Development teams, ensuring lab equipment is calibrated.
Data Analysis: Analyze data trends to adjust specifications and inform departments of significant changes.
What You Bring To The Table
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field AND/OR four years of experience in the beverage/food industry, focusing on analytical methods and laboratory procedures, including general lab equipment.
Ability to work overtime or alternate schedules as needed.
Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Applications.
