The Position Genentech, Inc. seeks a Data Analyst II in its South San Francisco, California location. Duties: Work with Genentech’s internal business stakeholders (Pharmacovigilance (PV) Operations, Service Provider Oversight, and PV clinical team) to assess and clarify requirements/specifications for safety-related data query, provide programming solutions, and ensure their efficient implementation. Design and develop macros using R, Python, and/or Excel, to expedite programming activities and usage for data management and data review. Develop and maintain R, Python, and/or Excel programs that test and organize datasets, computer programs, and related documentation. Develop Visualization (Tableau), statistical sampling tools, and forecasting methodologies for Genentech’s AE monitoring system. Build and monitor quality in every aspect of job activities in Genentech’s internal US Patient Safety unit. Develop and review specification documents. Identify and recommend PV system process improvements and other types of improvements. Education and experience required: Master’s degree in a Business Analytics or related field, and 2 years of experience in job offered, or related role. Special Requirements: Experience or academic coursework must include each of the following: Extracting and manipulating large complex pharma data using SQL; Building Machine learning and Forecasting models and drawing insights to guide business decisions. Using SAS for data reconciliation, data manipulation and assessing the accuracy of outputs. Designing, developing and implementing high quality and effective visualization and reporting solutions using Tableau. Designing and implementing different types of sampling methodologies. Option to telecommute with a requirement of 30% presence in office. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
