Job Overview
As an Online Chat Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our online customers, assisting them with product inquiries, order support, and general assistance via our live chat platform. Your role is essential in ensuring a seamless and satisfying shopping experience. The ideal candidate is a quick thinker, an excellent communicator, and passionate about providing top-tier customer service.
This position will also take on additional internal tasks within the marketing department as needed, such as ordering or returning sample products and assisting with other marketing-related duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers via live chat, providing prompt and accurate information on products, orders, pricing, and promotions.
- Assist customers in navigating our website, locating products, and making informed purchase decisions.
- Address and resolve customer concerns with professionalism and empathy to ensure high satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and technical support, to handle complex inquiries.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions in the CRM system.
- Stay updated on product offerings and company policies to provide knowledgeable assistance.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell based on customer needs and preferences.
- Support the marketing department with additional tasks as needed, including ordering or returning sample products and other administrative duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service, preferably in an online chat or e-commerce environment.
- Exceptional written communication skills with proper grammar and spelling (typing speed > 45 WPM).
- Ability to manage multiple chat conversations simultaneously while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an empathetic and patient approach to customer interactions.
- Proficiency in navigating computer systems and online platforms.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of lighting and electrical products is beneficial but not required.
- Adaptability to evolving processes and technology.
- Willingness to assist with internal marketing tasks as needed.
