What You'll Be Doing
Promote a safe work environment
Delegate, direct, coordinate and schedule activities of assigned area.
Act as a process expert to their assigned area
Train and mentor other employees
May participate in Continuous Improvement, Project and Safety Teams, Lean Initiatives, Value Stream led activities and defect prevention programs
Review Receiving documentation and records, performing PM’s (Preventative Maintenance tasks) and assist in updating processes.
Lead and participate in tier meetings which include a review of safety, quality and production goals
Organize and coordinate general cleaning through assigned area per GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Participate or lead troubleshooting activities with Quality and Maintenance personnel to determine the true root cause of non-conforming processes
Communicate with outgoing shift personnel to obtain information regarding any problems with machines, materials, etc. encountered during the previous shift
Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities
May fill in for Asst. Supervisor or Supervisor as needed
Take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
Responsible for all receipt of incoming raw materials into North Cove Facilities and for troubleshooting or escalating issues up to correct personnel as needed
Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
Requires Hazardous Waste training and Spill Response Training.
Work Environment
In either a Class III Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, hairnet and beard cover or a Class I Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)
Constant or intermittent exposure to elevated levels of noise and vibration
Involves working around moving equipment, machinery and conveyors
Requires occasionally working with chemical cleaners and disinfectants
May be required to operate a forklift
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience and demonstrated leadership skills
Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
Must be able to perform basic mathematics
Possess or be able to obtain PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Operator Certification
Possess or be able to obtain Inspector Certification
Preferred Experience
Six months experience as a Sr. Material Handler, Production Technician or equivalent
CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn/use enterprise software (i.e. GME and Maximo)
Physical Requirements
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Normal visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color are necessary.
Occasionally specialized physicals are required when working with certain drug codes.
Must be able to pass the P.I.V. physical
Must be able to squat, climb, kneel, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $36,800 to $56,400, plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
