Senior Engineer, Design Evaluation—Data center & Energy
Introduction to the Role
Energy Management Solutions (GMS) Business Unit is seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Design Evaluation Engineer to be part of a highly innovative team that defines, develops, implements, and executes next-generation smart energy management solutions. The Design Evaluation Engineer will work with the new product development team to support products from concept through release. As we move toward delivering complete hardware and software solutions to our customers, this role will contribute meaningfully towards system level design and evaluation during our development cycles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop hardware, write software/firmware, and utilize precision equipment to evaluate and characterize ICs across all operating conditions through mixed-signal functional and performance tests.
- Analyze data to synthesize insights, reach valid conclusions and present process/product improvement recommendations to the product development team.
- Apply product knowledge and expertise to drive innovations in system design.
- Interface with marketing and applications teams to support customer issues and requests.
- Contribute to system software validation and quality.
- As part of a cross-functional team, work closely with Project Management, Design, System/Software, Test, FA/Reliability, Manufacturing, and Marketing/Applications disciplines to solve challenging and complex problems.
Key Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in EE or ECE or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated circuit design knowledge - analog circuits, power management circuits, signals and systems, ADCs, DACs, serial interfaces, microcontrollers, etc.
- Demonstrated software skills in embedded C/C and Python or LabVIEW.
- Experience in PCB design.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to debug and solve complex problems through experiment design and data analysis.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong technical writing skills and demonstrated knowledge of requirements gathering processes and tools.
- Knowledge of IC fabrication and process technology.
