The Regional Business Development Manager (RBDM) is responsible for leading and coordinating business development efforts across the West, Central, and East regions within the Americas. This role ensures alignment with the overall BD and Marketing strategy while collaborating with regional BD leads, marketing coordinators, and leadership to drive growth, client engagement, and market expansion. The RBDM reports to the Managing Principal, Americas Region and works closely with the Western, Central, and Eastern Regional BD Managers, as well as other key stakeholders in architecture, operations, and finance.
Strategic Regional Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between the regional BD teams in San Francisco (West), Dallas (Central), and Miami (East) to ensure a unified business development strategy.
Develop regional market insights, identifying opportunities and challenges unique to each area while aligning efforts with firm-wide growth initiatives.
Work closely with the Growth and Design leadership teams to ensure BD efforts support both business expansion and design excellence.
Client and Market Development:
Strengthen and expand client relationships within key markets across the three regions.
Support BD leads in targeting high-value projects and strategic partnerships, ensuring a consistent brand and service approach across regions.
Collaborate with marketing coordinators to develop tailored proposals, presentations, and campaigns.
Internal Integration & Collaboration:
Align BD activities with the firm’s overall organizational structure, working closely with architecture, operations, and finance teams to ensure a seamless workflow from BD to project execution.
Support regional BD teams in leveraging firm-wide resources, including the BD/Marketing Coordinators and the Architecture Line teams for strategic pursuits.
Contribute to cross-regional knowledge sharing by coordinating best practices and lessons learned between the three regions.
Performance & Reporting:
Provide regular updates to the Managing Principal, Americas Region, on regional BD performance, trends, and key opportunities.
Collaborate with finance leadership to track BD investment and return metrics, ensuring informed decision-making.
Assist in forecasting and strategic planning by assessing market trends and competitive positioning in each region.
Requirements
10 years of experience in business development, preferably within architecture, real estate development, or a related field.
Proven track record of securing high-value projects in hospitality, multifamily residential, and/or mixed-use developments.
Strong network within the real estate, development, and hospitality industries.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Understanding of the design and development process, including project lifecycles, feasibility studies, and branding considerations.
Proficiency in CRM tools, proposal development, and market research.
Ability to travel regularly to build and maintain client relationships.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with branded luxury condominium models and partnerships with global hospitality brands.
Strong understanding of urban design trends, sustainable design practices, and market drivers in multifamily housing.
Knowledge of SF, Dallas, and Miami markets and their development ecosystems.
