SALARY: $68,800 - $77,000, bonus eligible LOCATION: Lexington, VA ROLE SUMMARY: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be accountable for directing and implementing all company environmental health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, standards, and requirements. The EHS Manager will be relied upon to establish a proactive safety environment, culture, and provide all necessary training. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for and develops the environmental and safety improvement initiatives and the daily management of ongoing safety and wellness operations. Provide insight, training, and information for senior management team regarding the Safety and Wellness strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues. Manages the General Liability prevention and claims management associated with Brew Pubs and having the Public / Consumers utilizing the facility. Represents the facility to external regulatory agencies i.e. EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc. Leads environmental and sustainability community outreach programs that contribute to the company’s image. Directs activities and conducts risk assessments to identify and control E & S risks to reduce injury and costs. Lead team of hourly and salary employees to continuously improve safety and environmental compliance and achievement. Leads and manages annual compliance and refresher trainings. Works with the People Department to manage all workers compensation claims. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field. 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing facility. Training experience required. Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, purchasing functions and activities. Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office-related software. Solid understanding of Federal, State, OSHA, workers’ compensation & EPA laws/regulations. Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and follow-up skills. Presentation skills for staff and team member events. Experienced in statistical and problem-solving methods including Process Improvement, Risk Assessment, and Root Cause Analysis. Strong written, oral, and listening communication skills. Ability to influence and skills to coach all levels within the facility.
