Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities required to complete project goals established by the sponsor; manage projects through completion to ensure business requirements are met and delivered on time within budget
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, coordinate project resources, track milestones and deliverables, provide scope management and change control, evaluate risk and manage issues, develop test plans and oversee user acceptance and vendor management
- Work with the Fund’s business areas to gather information about new project initiatives and assisting in creating associated project management artifacts
- Interview and gather requirements set by the business sponsor and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s); ensure requirements are clear, concise and properly address business needs
- Meet with project stakeholders and provide status updates of key projects including root cause analysis on missed deadlines, potential issues and risks, and communicate mitigation plans
- Assist in the development of the Project Management Office (PMO); provide a ssistance to the Assistant Director with the Governance model , critical project management processes and their associated tools and procedures
- Assist in developing best practices and tools for project execution and management at the Funds and d evelop and maintain project resource plans and upon project completion, assist in the support turnover process
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
- Bachelors degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or equivalent years of work experience required
- Minimum two (2) years Project Management experience required; technical experience preferred
- Experience with Project Cost Management required. Certified Associate in Project Management ( CAPM) Certification highly preferred
- Excellent knowledge of the project life cycle, requirements gathering, drafting Request for Proposals (RFPs) for third party software, standards and procedures required
- Experience with the following business domains a plus: healthcare insurance processing; finance; pension management; benefits administration
- Experience with Business Intelligence and dashboard design (QlikView, SAS Office Analytics & Visual Analytics, SSRS 2016)
- Experience with project management tools and software (MS Project, MS Project Online , Visio and PowerPoint), database concepts, and software testing methodology
- Knowledge of Project Portfolio Management and methodologies preferred
- Good leadership skills with proven abilities to plan, estimate, and track projects; demonstrated ability to work independently and drive project plans to meet delivery milestones with high quality standards
- Solid analytic and problem solving abilities with exceptional organizational skills, driven by customer focused and goal oriented principles
- Ability to build strong relationships with users, departments, IT, vendors, management, and executives; proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must provide clear and consistent directions and communicate well with people at all levels
