Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Career Services Unit to ensure effective service delivery.
- Lead the training and development of Career Services Specialists and Assistant Career Services Specialists, equipping them to provide comprehensive career counseling, coaching, and training.
- Develop and update training materials and internal workshops to enhance team effectiveness and skill sets.
- Supervise the Career Services team, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing any performance issues with the Assistant/Associate Director.
- Assist in planning staffing levels and resource allocation to meet member demand for career services.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing development for new Career Services staff to ensure readiness to support job seekers.
- Partner with the Education Division and external consultants to design career readiness workshops that prepare job seekers for healthcare employment.
- Develop and implement training programs and workshops on resume building, interview skills, and healthcare-specific competencies.
- Oversee member onboarding and job readiness preparation, ensuring seamless transitions from initial assessments to skills development and job placement services.
- Work closely with the Employer Relations team to align candidate readiness with current job openings.
- Coordinate placement activities to ensure job seekers are matched effectively with employer needs, particularly within 1199 healthcare networks.
- Track job placement data, analyze program effectiveness, and report key metrics and outcomes to leadership
- Report on key performance metrics to the Assistant/Associate Director and use data-driven insights to enhance service offerings.
- Engage with employers, educational partners and other stakeholders as well as develop partnership to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Counseling, Education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.- Minimum five (5) years of experience in career counseling, workforce development, or educational services include and two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Learning Management Software (LMS) tools as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- Project management skills with experience in large-scale program implementations.
- Experience with career training in healthcare or union environments.
- Experience with data analysis tools for tracking program outcomes and performance metrics. Preferred knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Planner, Asana, Trello).
- Ability to manage large-scale programs and ensure alignment with the dynamic needs of the healthcare sector.
- Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs, Hudson Valley and Long Island as needed to support recruitment and placement activities.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
