Teen Respite Provider -Hartland

We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Part Time Teen Respite Provider to support a male teen with special needs at his home or in the community. The ideal candidate will provide essential care, companionship, and supervision to ensure the well-being and comfort of the client a few times per month. CNA certification is preferred, but not required, if applicant has caregiving experience with special needs children/teens.

Pay: $18.32 per hour

Schedule: 15 hours per month. Family prefers shifts of 5-7 hours per week - 2x per month. (Example: a Friday evening or a Saturday or Sunday day shift)

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance to a young male with developmental disability/special needs, to ensure their comfort and safety.
• Engage client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
• Be mindful of client's behaviors and redirect when necessary.
• Observe and report any changes in the clients' physical or emotional conditions to family as needed.
• Foster a positive relationship with the client and his family, providing emotional support as needed.

Skills

• Experience with clients who are non-verbal.
• Experience with clients with physical behaviors and the ability to redirect.
• Familiarity with CPR techniques and emergency response protocols.
• Strong observational skills to monitor client well-being effectively.
• Excellent communication skills
• A compassionate demeanor and positive attitude with a genuine desire to help others.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years old or older
• Must have a valid Drivers License, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
• Must successfully pass a Background Check prior to hire.
