What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teen Respite Provider -Hartland position at 1217014?
We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Part Time Teen Respite Provider to support a male teen with special needs at his home or in the community. The ideal candidate will provide essential care, companionship, and supervision to ensure the well-being and comfort of the client a few times per month. CNA certification is preferred, but not required, if applicant has caregiving experience with special needs children/teens.
Pay: $18.32 per hour
Schedule: 15 hours per month. Family prefers shifts of 5-7 hours per week - 2x per month. (Example: a Friday evening or a Saturday or Sunday day shift)
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance to a young male with developmental disability/special needs, to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Engage client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Be mindful of client's behaviors and redirect when necessary.
- Observe and report any changes in the clients' physical or emotional conditions to family as needed.
- Foster a positive relationship with the client and his family, providing emotional support as needed.
Skills
- Experience with clients who are non-verbal.
- Experience with clients with physical behaviors and the ability to redirect.
- Familiarity with CPR techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client well-being effectively.
- Excellent communication skills
- A compassionate demeanor and positive attitude with a genuine desire to help others.

Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must have a valid Drivers License, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
- Must successfully pass a Background Check prior to hire.
