IT Operations Analyst

What the job is …

We’re looking for a person with good analytical skills, curiosity for tools and with an appetite to be the person responsible for helping others get to data-based insights and decisions.

You will oversee and manage reporting activities with Infrastructure & Operations, covering systems operated and maintained by the two teams IT Infrastructure and IT Support. We’re looking for a colleague that can help us identify the data, structure and analyze it and present it in a uniform and professional manner.

We have multiple systems managing critical areas and each contains data which we often need to balance with other sources. You need to be able to see patterns/trends and establish methods/systems that help apply the necessary structure but, you also have to be driven by curiosity with a high-level of self-discipline. You will need to convey, discuss and present information, which requires you have a good insight into the data and can adapt it for the recipient audience. As a person, it will require versatility as you will drive the data-analysis and discuss with relevant stakeholders independently.

Understanding different data-sources and datasets/types is equally important. If you have experience in data modelling &/or data integrations (e.g. APIs between systems) , we consider this valuable experience which we would like to use and apply. You need to know your own toolbox to make analysis and present findings.

Your daily interfacing will be with our technical colleagues and you will provide reports to these as well as management. If you have experience with making KPIs to measure progress, this will be a plus.

The reporting can be of different character and span from bi-weekly reports, to deep dives in an operational topic where we need to understand the problem at hand. As a person, you need to be able to balance this and manage your time accordingly.

Travel in this position can occur but, is currently deemed in the rare case (e.g. less than 10 days per year).

How you will contribute to the team

You will be contributing to the direction of the team through your role of being the provider of the data driven insights through the detailed analysis and reports you make. The data you analyze and present will help us in setting direction on technical tasks as well as our tactical and strategic direction.

As an Infrastructure Analyst you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making to support our mission. We don’t want to wait for outcomes to happen but, would prefer to influence our operating terms as much as possible. Your contribution in terms of an independent and cooperating drive is therefore a characteristic we hope to see in you.

Your profile

• Bachelor degree or 2-4 years of experience in a position similar to this

• Strong ability to work independently and apply knowledge/experience gained

• Demonstrated and proven understanding of data and types of data

• Deep experience with collaboration tools and platforms and scripting languages

• Coding abilities (e.g Python, SQL) & experience in working with APIs, data structures etc would be a plus

• Experience with databases and getting data from these

• Capable of working with and combining structured and unstructured data

• Ability to share data through structured exhaustive lists and diagrammes/Pivot tables

• Excellent communication skills in English: Proficient in both written and oral communication, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences

• Can work independently and consistent in terms of deliverables
