Job Summary To provide direct patient care and patient education for fitting, measuring and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, off-the-shelf orthotic devices and other DME equipment and supplies. Participates in 24/7 on-call coverage. Bonus This position is bonus eligible, follow this link for details Accountabilities Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids. - 50% Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses. - 20% Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes. - 15% Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped For Life office. - 5% Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses. - 5% Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity. - 5% Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree - Athletic Training No experience required. Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification SC Athletic Trainer License/Certification CPR Certification South Carolina DRIVERS LICENSE Knowledge, Skills or Abilities 1 or more years of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience - Preferred Electronic Medical Records experience - Preferred Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field - Preferred Requires a high level of physical activity and endurance as well as emotional stability. Constant movement and frequent heavy lifting are required.
