Position Overview:
As a Quality Supervisor, you will oversee and ensure the quality of our products and processes. You will lead a team of Quality Inspectors and Technicians, enforce quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your role is pivotal in maintaining product excellence and compliance with industry regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of Quality Inspectors and Technicians. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure team effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures. Ensure that products and processes comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
Inspection and Testing: Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of inspection results.
Problem-Solving: Identify and analyze quality issues, root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality concerns.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and process effectiveness. Implement best practices and industry standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality issues.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices.
Training: Conduct training sessions for employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices. Promote a quality-focused culture within the organization.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quality inspection tools and software (e.g., statistical analysis software, ERP systems).
Education & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ CQE) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position. Experience in food production is preferred.
Work Environment:
Exposure to both the office setting and food manufacturing facility.
- Significant amount of time working at a computer station
- Occasional visits to various areas of the manufacturing floor
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
- Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
- Occasional ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
- Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
