Position Overview
The Claims Division is seeking a Director to join the Workers' Compensation Team. In this role, the responsibilities include but not limited to TPA oversight of complex and severe Workers’ Compensation claims across all business units.
Primary Responsibilities
Specific duties include but not limited to the below:
- Support and oversight to the handling Claim Examiner/TPA
- Evaluation of counsel and retention of same
- Evaluation of exposures, liability and damages
- Evaluation of timely and appropriate reserves and settlement authority
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization
- Negotiating optimum claim outcomes
- Effective presentations to committee
- Working closely with TPA Partners, Claim Examiners, Underwriters, Actuarial, and Senior Management to communicate claim developments, research trends, develop policy wording, educate/train on legal issues
- Auditing of Arch’s TPA Partners for technical and handling guideline compliance
- Travel for training, audit, and case negotiations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
- At least 15 years of related experience with a carrier or TPA
- Complex/Severity Workers’ Comp/Casualty claims experience
- Management experience
- Proper Adjuster Licensing in all applicable States
- NY expertise is required, multiple jurisdictions preferred
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to analyze, organize, and present information in a clear and succinct manner
- Ability to take part in active strategic discussions
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willing and able to travel up to 25%

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$107,900 - $145,700/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
