Job Summary
This Regional Middle Market Executive, South Zone has P&L accountability for all states in the Arch assigned South Territory. They are the primary contact for Middle Market Business underwritten in the assigned zone. They collaborate with all business units to accomplish top and bottom-line business results, while developing future business leaders for the organization. They oversee the Middle Market Business demands of the zone with their operational partners and drive top-line results by leading an underwriting team dedicated to profitable business growth. The Middle Market Business includes both the Middle Market Package Team and the Middle Market Property Specialist (MPS) Team.
Essential Job Functions
- Be the primary point of connection for the Middle Market Business in the zone.
- Build, oversee execution of and measure zone strategies that drive results. This includes strategies in the current year as well as long-term strategic planning focused on profitable growth for the long term.
- Accountable for top- and bottom-line results for all states included in the assigned zone. This includes – but is not limited to – sales execution, rate effectiveness through correct classification of business, strategic risk management, general manager leadership.
- Oversee and collaborate with zone field underwriting and leaders to ensure seamless integration with National Middle Market Business and CUO – which includes all zone reporting, financial analysis, segmentation coordination, promo management, calendar management, measurement, and overall operational rigor/excellence.
- Oversee and collaborate with zone field operating lead/team to manage the zone budget and plot mission-critical business strategies, such as deployment of business and broker relationships
- Lead the Middle Market Package and MPS Teams in assigned zone. Ensure alignment and engagement with the CUO Teams
- Prioritize talent development and performance management; ensure consistent deployment of field-facing underwriters.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15-20 years of Property & Casualty Insurance underwriting experience, with knowledge of insurance products and broker distribution
- Experience owning the onboarding of new staff
- Ability to be a long-term (horizon two and three) thinker and guide development of long-term strategic plan.
- Ability to collaborate, influence and lead essential to success.
- Strong problem-solving ability, in addition to creative and strategic thinking ability.
- Extensive knowledge of insurance business and business operations, i.e. product, claims, distribution management, legislative and regulatory affairs, financials, etc.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA preferred.
- Insurance designations preferred (example, CLU, ChFC, FSCP, CPCU, ARM).
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$178,100 - $240,958/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
