Job Summary Summary
The primary purpose of your job is under the supervision of the ES Director to perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of carpentry, painting, plastering, and other services as required. Additional, maintains hospital grounds and parking lots. This will be done in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and established policies and procedures as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality care and safety can be maintained.

Essential Functions
-Performs maintenance, preventative maintenance and basic repairs to equipment and systems as necessary to include mostly carpentry patch and repair, painting, some plumbing and mechanical.
-Follows through on maintenance, preventative maintenance and basic repairs so that work orders are completed on a timely basis.
-Checks daily the work order system and completes HIGH priority work orders ASAP.
-Assists in assembling/installing new equipment and completing renovation as directed.
-Performs snow removal as necessary, including plowing, shoveling, sanding and salting during the winter months to ensure all pathways are safe for patients, visitors, employees and the public.
-Uses maintenance power tools such as saws, plumbing, electrical test equipment, etc.
-Performs a variety of tasks involving carpentry, some plumbing and mechanical systems.
-Performs maintenance to lawn mowers, snow blowers and other grounds-keeping equipment as necessary.
-Removes debris from the hospital grounds by a variety of means.
-Regularly inspects life safety equipment and keeps fire pathways clear.
-Repairs, patches and refinishes paint or vinyl covered surfaces on the interior and/or exterior of the building as directed.
-Reports all safety incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions, safety risks; and takes appropriate action to correct any safety or environmental hazards.
-Utilizes Maintenance Department supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently.
-Ensures proper security for equipment and supplies.
-Complies with hospital/departmental policies, procedures, regulations and standards.
-Demonstrates hospital’s stated mission and values of teamwork, respect and communication with co-workers, patients, families and visitors.
-Actively and appropriately participates in problem identification and resolution, both intro- and inter-departmentally.
-Meets departmental customer service standards and strives to enhance the level of customer service provided.
-Performs various other duties as assigned.
-Maintains a clean, organized workshop and work area.
-Maintains order and report when parts/stock supplies are running low.
-Participates in on-call rotation.
