Job Description:
TITLE: Cabin Stress Engineer II
EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc.
DUTIES: Defining the certification plan for interior Monuments, Linings & Seats
within the airplane cabin. Performing sizing and support design activities related to Interiors of the airplane cabin. Reviewing & approving Finite Element Models, utilizing mechanical engineering principles. Monitoring, supporting, and providing guidance to interior suppliers to ensure a quality product that aligns with engineering specifications. Reviewing and approving structural substantiation reports from interior suppliers in support of the development and certification of new cabin monuments and seats. Supporting the development, execution, and revision of test data for material allowable and sub-component structural testing. Working in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials to perform
engineering calculations to accurately predict product performance.
LOCATION: Mobile, AL
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 5 years in any job title involving experience in the
aerospace or automotive industry. Alternatively, Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 2 years in any job title involving experience in the aerospace or automotive industry. Prior experience must also include the following: Experience with aircraft or automotive interiors and seats qualification requirements; Experience with MS Patran, Nastran, LS-DYNA, and CATIA V5 applications; and Working experience with Finite Element Method (FEM) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Travel requirement: Up to 20% domestic and international travel required for business meetings. Telework: Up to 2 days per week.
