  • Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Culinary Director to oversee the culinary operations of 1821 Hospitality Group, LLC . The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring culinary excellence, providing outstanding guest experiences, and leading our team with integrity, enthusiasm, respect and care. This role demands a hands-on approach to leadership and a deep commitment to the art of hospitality.

    Key Responsibilities :

    • Participate in developing new culinary concepts, innovative menus and unique dining experiences that align with the vision of 1821 Hospitality Group.
    • Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training and professional development to ensure a high level of performance and job satisfaction.
    • Efficiently manage food and labor costs, controlling inventory, minimizing waste and ensuring optimal use of resources.
    • Inventory and Cost Control : Ensure that regular inventories are performed and carefully manage food and supply orders to ensure proper stock levels while controlling costs. Ensure the receipt and inspection of deliveries is overseen to assure quality.
    • Conduct a detailed analysis of all food and labor costs, identifying areas of opportunity to improve staffing efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses.
    • Prepare regular reports on the financial performance of the culinary department, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to improve profitability.
    • Culinary Leadership : Manage daily culinary operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards of quality and cleanliness. Oversee culinary team to perform opening and closing procedures, including pre-shift preparations and end-of-day cleanliness.
    • Team Management and Development : Lead, motivate, and manage both hourly and management staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect and care. Conduct hiring, training, and performance evaluations to develop a high-performing team.
    • Remain informed of global, regional and local culinary trends, as well as new techniques and equipment, to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the our culinary offerings.
    • Guest Experience : Ensure all guests receive exceptional service. Respond promptly and effectively to guest feedback and ensure the resolution of any issues to maintain high customer satisfaction.
    • Compliance and Safety : Ensure the restaurant complies with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning health, safety, and labor requirements.
    • Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in a dynamic high end restaurant group or luxury resort.
    • Strong Leadership skills with proven ability to train teams and lead effectively.
    • Extensive knowledge and interest in food and beverage, including a solid understanding of wine, beer, and spirits.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with guests, staff, and vendors.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, at multiple locations as needed.
    • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
    • Experience with various POS and Restaurant Management systems including but not limited to Aloha / NCR, Toast, Restaurant 365, Compeat, HotSchedules and other similar systems.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
