1888 is seeking an Accountant to join our collaborative finance team. We are looking for a person to maintain accurate financial records, analyze data and ensure we’re always in line with financial reporting standards. We will help you take on challenges along the way and you will help your teammates when they need a little help. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2025.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules
- Build analytics to help Managers better understand their business
- Own important parts of the monthly close process including key journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
- Research and resolve account reconciling items
- Help design, document, and test new enterprise reporting system upgrades and modifications as we strive for continual process improvement
- Assist with various audits pulling support for auditors
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Suggest process improvements – we value your insights
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of accounting software programs and bookkeeping generally
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools like Excel; bonus points for OneNote, SharePoint and other productivity tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to coach others using Excel, etc.
- Experience with financial statement preparation, analysis, account reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting a plus
- Strong analytical skills, including process improvement Be able to identify and resolve problems quickly
- Team player and be able to collaborate with various departments
- Comfortable in communicating potential issues to management
- Organized and ability to complete tasks on time
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Associate’s degree and accounting/analyst work experience given consideration
Company Requirements:
- Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be able to commute to Greeley, CO daily
Physical Requirements:
- Less than 50% of the time will be spent occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, standing kneeling, and bending.
- More than 50% of the time will be spent in an office sitting, standing, typing, and doing computer work.
