We are seeking an Accountant. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and an eye for spotting numerical mistakes. One of the most important traits we are looking for is initiative. Whether its in solving problems or participating in creating future growth and improvements. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations. The job description below lays out the needs of the company.
This position is M-F, 8am to 4pm. Eligible for bonuses.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 1-3 employees
Accountant Responsibilities:
- Entering Invoices accurately
- Oversee all accounting operations which include accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Supports company-wide budgeting process; helps prepare budgets and reports on variances
- Ensures accurate reconciliation processes for all relevant accounts
- Coordinates internal and external accounting audit activities
- Assists tax professionals with the preparation of state and federal tax returns
- Ensures all tax payments are paid accordingly
- Ensures Business licenses and Sales Tax Certificates are up to date
- Other duties as assigned
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles for stakeholders and key decision-makers
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
Education or Experience
- High School Diploma or 7 years of relevant experience.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree with 5 years of experience.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience in QuickBooks Desktop
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment is preferred
