This position is for the general manager of 1st Choice Fresh Market which is a new grocery store that is located in Lincoln City, Oregon. The opening date of the store is Summery 2025. The store features a full deli, bakery, and butcher shop, as well as center store grocery and wine / beer departments. The grocery store is a part of the Co-Op URM which focuses on quality groceries, prices, and operational support for a large range of stores between Oregon and Washington.
As general manager you would be responsible for the overall operation and success of the store, overseeing all aspects including staff management, inventory control, customer service, sales performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies, while maintaining a profitable and efficient store environment. We are looking for someone capable and willing to implement novel concepts and ideas to create this successful environment with the ability to rapidly adapt to new situations.

This includes department manager and employee training, POS support, on-site staff during opening, and more. Furthermore, they would perform the initial stocking and shelving layout of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Staff Management:
● Hire, train, and develop a team of department managers and staff, ensuring proper staffing levels and performance expectations are met.
● Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address employee concerns.
● Delegate tasks and responsibilities to department managers, ensuring smooth daily operations.
● Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
Financial Performance:
● Develop and manage the store budget, tracking sales, costs, and profitability metrics.
● Analyze sales trends, identify opportunities for increased revenue, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
● Monitor inventory levels, prevent stockouts, and manage product ordering to optimize costs.
Customer Service:
● Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained throughout the store.
● Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
● Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements based on customer needs.
Operations Management:
● Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
● Monitor compliance with all company policies and procedures, including food safety regulations.
● Implement and maintain quality control standards for products.
Merchandising and Marketing:
● Collaborate with department managers to plan and execute merchandising strategies.
● Implement promotional activities and pricing strategies to drive sales.
● Ensure store displays are visually appealing and well stocked.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
● Proven experience in retail management, preferably within the grocery industry.
● 3 years of grocery management experience
● Strong leadership and team building skills
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions
● Financial management skills, including budgeting and profit/loss analysis
● Proficiency in inventory management systems
● Strong work ethic and ability to work flexible hours
