We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team on a contract basis with the potential to transition to a permanent position. This role is vital in supporting our mission of delivering quality healthcare services to the Baltimore community.
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Work Schedule: Onsite Monday – Friday 9AM- 5PM
Responsibilities:
- Prepare examining rooms and patients for appointments.
- Assist physicians and clinicians during examinations.
- Gather pre-examination information and patient case history details.
- Schedule and process appointments.
- Obtain and assess patient information for billing and registration, entering data into our electronic system.
- Collect laboratory specimens, prepare slides, and perform selected tests following established protocols (Phlebotomy certification required).
- Take and record vital signs.
- Prepare microscope slides and record data in patient files.
- Provide clinical support services to community clinics, ensuring timely return of testing and specimens.
- Maintain inventory of office and medical supplies.
- Ensure patient examination areas are clean and well-stocked.
- Answer phone inquiries regarding clinic services.
- Provide patient information and referral services.
- Perform light typing duties.
- Maintain medical record files, including patient charts and invoices sent to third-party payers.
- Ensure accurate documentation is entered into the electronic health record system.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid CPR or BLS
- Valid PPD or Chest X Ray
- MMR
- Associate degree in a health-related field preferred.
- Bilingualism (English and Spanish) a must.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records Software System HIGHLY Preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is a must. Experience with video conferencing platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, or Webex is preferred.
