• As a Senior Community Planner , you will play a pivotal role in guiding major zoning and land-use initiatives, evaluating urban design strategies, and leading stakeholder engagement efforts . Your expertise will help ensure Prince Georges County continues to grow in a way that is sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with the communitys vision for the future.Location : Largo, Maryland

• Key Responsibilities : Lead and oversee major planning projects, including zoning, land use, and environmental impact assessments.
• Develop and implement long-term planning strategies to promote sustainable growth, economic development, and community engagement.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform policy recommendations and planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations to align planning efforts with regional goals.
• Review development proposals, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal planning regulations.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership, planning commissions, and community stakeholders.
• Utilize GIS, data visualization tools, and planning software to support research and decision-making.
• Stay current on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in urban and regional planning.
• Candidate Requirements : Education : Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Architecture, Environmental Planning, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience : A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in community planning, urban development, land use, or a related area.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in planning software, GIS applications, and data analysis tools.
• Regulatory Knowledge : Strong understanding of local, state, and federal land use regulations, zoning laws, and environmental policies.
• Communication & Leadership : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and present findings to leadership and the public.
• Problem-Solving & Analysis : Strong analytical skills to assess complex planning issues, interpret data, and develop effective solutions.
• Project Management : Experience managing planning projects from inception to completion, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
