As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Vision System Tech Lead to design and implement custom vision systems for our humanoid robots. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced stereo camera and vision processing solutions, ensuring seamless integration into our robotic systems. You will work hands-on to deliver ultra-low latency, high-performance vision systems that enable cutting-edge capabilities in teleoperation and autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom stereo vision systems, including optics, sensor integration, and FPGA / ASIC-based image signal processing (ISP).
- Architect and implement ultra-low latency vision processing pipelines tailored to the demands of real-time robotic operation.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and AI teams to integrate the vision system into the robotic stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and optimize stereo depth processing solutions, enabling advanced perception capabilities for humanoid robots.
- Drive hands-on development, debugging, and testing to validate the vision system under real-world conditions.
- Lead the evaluation of new technologies and components to continuously enhance vision system performance.
- Mentor and guide engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Proven industry experience designing and delivering custom stereo vision systems, including optics, sensor integration, and output processing
- Expertise in FPGA and ASIC architectures for real-time vision applications, with hands-on experience in ISP and compositing
- Strong software and electrical engineering skills, with a track record of implementing and debugging complex systems
- Experience building and managing technical teams to deliver hardware-intensive projects
