Location BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital Title Imaging Services Supervisor - Bronson Methodist Hospital Position Details: The imaging supervisor: will work within the radiology PACS team while supporting the X-ray and nuclear medicine system manager. will work closely with IT PACS on standard work on equipment installs. may need to take call to support the PACS team Position Summary: The Imaging Services Supervisor coordinates and supervises daily department activities, including personnel, quality assurance, patient care, and regulatory requirements. Adhere to all appropriate radiology standards of operation and patient care standards, including meeting efficiency and productivity standards, identifying issues in the system, working to improve these, and offering insight to annual strategic plans and white papers. Assists in annual budget preparation and monitors expenditures to ensure the achievement of budget projections. This position will also interface with other hospitals, sites, and departments as a resource in addressing questions and concerns of their technical area from providers and other customers. Currently licensed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS), or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. Bachelor’s degree within 5 years of hire or equivalent experience at time of hire. 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting as a registered technologist/sonographer Leadership experience required Supervisory and team leadership skills, including coaching, engaging and developing coworkers Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements. Demonstrate flexibility in staffing and adaptability to changes in patient care practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of patient safety protocols, infection control, safe radiation practices, and quality control analysis. Must be able to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with documentation and record keeping in the department Must demonstrate a degree of independent judgment and critical thinking Must be able to move from task to task, maintaining quality and efficiency Shows dignity and respect to the patient, family, and team members Treats team members as valued partners Work that produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive, repetitive, or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods, the operation of and complete attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less), and assisting with heavier tasks such as lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required. Promotes and develops inter-departmental teamwork throughout the radiology department and hospital. Working with Purchasing, Central Distribution, and vendors, assists in maintaining adequate supplies and inventory for section. Assists the manager/director with work review and consults with radiologist as required. Identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the one up. Assists in orienting and training new radiology employees as appropriate to the job description. Assists in training, teaching, and supervising any radiology students during their clinical rotation.
