Reporting to the Glenwood Springs or Denver Guest Experience Manager, the Luggage Truck Driver provides support for the Guest Experience team, specifically the Destinations Team.
This role is responsible for providing excellence in guest satisfaction through indirect service to guests at various destinations. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver luggage handling services to ensure all guest luggage is safely organized onboard a truck for transfer between destinations. The Luggage Truck Driver is a problem-solving champion, empowered to make decisions on behalf of the company. This position is deemed Safety Alert since regular access to an active railway area is required. The Luggage Truck Driver is part of the Destinations Guest Operations (DGO) team, responsible for the health and safety of colleagues, guests, the public, property, and the environment.
Key Areas of Accountability
• Work as part of the Guest Experience team to prepare, organize, oversee, and execute the daily luggage operations to provide world-class service to guests and to deliver on RM’s brand promise enabling the creation of life-changing experiences.
• Perform safe tagging, sorting, counting, scanning, loading, unloading, and delivery of guest luggage to stations, hotels, and Guest Centers
• Prepare luggage reports and assist with misdirected luggage
• Assist with station/siding traffic flow as required by guiding motor coaches, luggage trucks and directing guests and public
• Communicate regularly and effectively with Destinations teams to coordinate luggage movement
• Prepare supplies and scanning equipment for daily operations
• Drive delivery box truck safely and lawfully on highways and local streets
• Report on daily delivery status to dispatcher and supervisors
• Keep vehicles, ramp areas, and equipment clean and orderly
• Perform daily vehicle inspections
• Adheres to strict safety and quality standards

• Adhere to Rocky Mountaineer’s safety and security standards so that safety hazards and concerns are mitigated/reduced for guests, team members, and partners
Qualifications
Education/Certifications/Knowledge
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and a clean driving record
• Experience in tourism, hospitality, and/or customer service desired

Work Environment/Physical Requirement
• Schedule includes early mornings and evenings as per train arrival/departure schedules. Overtime may be required for irregular operations or delays.
• Require work in a variety of weather conditions and possible extreme temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
• Require work in a Safety Alert environment including railway tracks, moving trains, and other vehicles
• Ability to safely lift 50 - 80 pounds and to repeatedly carry and safely load and unload luggage into a transport truck
• Must be entitled to work in the United States for the full duration of the operating season (April-November)

Salary
Hourly wage: $24.00 USD/hour
