Job Summary:
Ensures a smooth flow in production over all shifts and to help develop and maintain cost effective plant efficiencies. Manage and direct daily activity of department leads in production scheduling and management of personnel. Maintain positive employee morale and relations through communication and examples setting. Carry out all company policies, procedures and programs.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:
- Attend daily production meetings, communicating and working closely with Customer Relations and department leads to assure production and on time delivery.
- Assist in the training & development, team building, and quality standards for the Supervisors, Delta Forces, and Special Forces.
- Review production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, and work procedures, prioritizing the on-time delivery of orders (BMOR)
- Create a teamwork environment that sets an example with cooperation and positive attitude
- Resolve production and personnel issues including taking an active role and resolve of disciplinary actions, procedures and counseling
- Appropriately enforce all Byrne procedures and policies through communication, personal example, and the use of Conduct Improvement, as necessary
- Follow and support all ISO activities and procedures by making sure all assembly operators are properly trained
- Work closely with Quality Manager to assist in the resolve and improvement in production quality
- Coordinate with Purchasing to assure raw material and tools are available for production
- Assist in the coordination of production needs between all plants.
- Strong familiarity with using metrics to benchmark performance, attain goals and communicate progress company-wide
- Actively promote a healthy work safe environment for all employees
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives in maintaining the proper stock levels of all raw and finished goods
- Develop plans, targets and processes to achieve strategic goals
- Actively lead all Lean Manufacturing activities thru daily duties and thru CSM collaboration
- Contribute to organizational culture by exhibiting behavior in line with company values
- Accomplish other activities as assigned by management
Skills/Experience Required:
- The ideal candidate possesses some supervisory experience.
- 3 years of Plant Management experience preferred in a manufacturing environment.
- Must effectively be able to perform or have experience in the following: performance evaluations, problem solving, communication skills, interpersonal skills, interviewing skills, computer (word/excel) and lean manufacturing.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
